Winter in Slovenia workshop
It started with mild weather, but luckinly there was surprising amount of afternoon mist, so we started at the hill just outside of Ljublana airport and finished up at lake Bled to take some photos at the dusk.
Since forecast predicted all day overcst we explored bearch forest close to Italian border and Soča valley with few waterfalls and nice Soča river next day.
While we were crossing Vršič pass on our way beck to Kranjska Gora we were surprised by a very nice sunset that developed in just the last minute. After we collected our bags, that were scattered all over the place and when adrenalin came down to acceptable level, we realised, that weather forecast is just that: a forecast and that photographer needs to be prepared to take advantage of a opportunity, if it presents itself.
Third day was overcasted with slight rain, so we drove all the way to coastal town of Piran to take a reflection photos in the main square where buildings are refleced off shiny white marble.
It started to snow on the evening of fourth day, so fifth day was wery intense as we did our best to photographed a frresh snow before it fall of the trees is early afternoon.
We photographed st. Primus churrch in the evening. Unfortunatelly most of the snow that fell was gone by then, but again we were blessed with spectacular desplay of clouds at sunset.
On our final day we took some low laying mist photographs before driving back to the airport.
It was a first time I had Tamron 70-150 soft focus lens with me on the workshop adn I'm still quite nervous using it. But experience is a rewarding one and I can see me using it more and more in the future. It was challenging workshop, but years of experiences leading workshops in Slovenia really helped us. So thank you again Guy for all your help.
